Snow Day

Well, the weatherman was way off the mark for this storm. He had predicted 6 - 12 inches of snow, and we got 26 inches! Fortunately, we had planned to spend the day indoors, baking Christmas cookies. So, we went to the store yesterday to buy a few ingredients we didn't have on hand. After breakfast, we got started baking. Jorene made Coconut-Macadamia, Chocolate Chip-Almond, and Cake Mix cookies; while I made Ginger Snaps and biscotti.

These recipes, and more, can be found on our recipes page.

Jorene likes to put a variety of cookies in colorful boxes for our friends each year.

Merry Christmas to all!

  1. Hi! It's Chas from the group that visited with you last weekend. :) I am the one who chatted with you and Jorene about your farm and raising your animals and gardening.
I can't tell you how much we enjoyed your beautiful lodge and am excited to follow you on your blog now.
I didn't get a chance to ask you about your ginger snap cookie recipe, but I tell you they were amazing! If it is not a big secret family recipe, would you mind sharing it with me? :)
I believe it is just amazing how God brings people across your path in such interesting places, places where you might not expect. I am thankful to have been able to meet you all.
Blessings to you and your wonderful family.

  2. Chas,

Thank you for your kind words. We enjoyed chatting with you too. It's fun to meet fellow gardeners and hear what they are doing.

The recipe isn't a family secret, but it does come to us from our good friend Dee McCutcheon. I just posted it and the other cookie recipes to our recipes page. I hope you enjoy it.
